We’re based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, but work with individuals, couples, families and workplaces all over Aotearoa New Zealand.

Meet the Crew
Hans van der Wilt
Hans began his own financial journey in 1986 working in London as a Dealer with several share broking firms. After returning to New Zealand Hans continued his interest in the financial markets working as an Advisor in 1990 with National Mutual Life. He then set up his own non-aligned practice van der Wilt Financial Limited in 1999 which grew and merged several times before being known as Lifetime in 2019.
In September 2020 Hans seized the opportunity to paddle his own canoe once more and so formed Blue Canoe, Financial Navigators. He is looking forward to guiding you through your own financial journey. Hans is a Financial Adviser and a member of Financial Advice New Zealand.
Hans thoroughly enjoys spending time with Jane and their four children. You will find him skiing and adventuring around New Zealand or otherwise working on DIY projects around their property in Days Bay.
Isaac Vickers
Isaac completed a degree in finance from Massey University in 2014 with a keen interest in financial markets. He worked for the NZX, the local stock exchange as an analyst before moving to the financial advice industry in 2017 to pursue a career as a financial planner.
In 2020 Isaac contracted his services to Blue Canoe before later joining as a director and owner of the business. Isaac specialises in working with motivated clients and their families, helping them to improve their financial situation by stimulating good saving habits, protecting what is important, and investing in their futures. Isaac is a Financial Adviser and a member of Financial Advice New Zealand
Away from work Isaac takes every opportunity for weekend escapes having hiked Roy’s Peak, Mount Taranaki, the Tongariro Crossing and the Abel Tasman in 2021.
Tracey Piper
Tracey Piper joined Blue Canoe as our Client and Office Manager in 2020. With over 13 years experience working in customer service for insurance providers and other financial planners in the Wellington area, Tracey brings a broad range of experience to her role at Blue Canoe.
Her extensive knowledge in the industry along with a solid compliance background has seen her coordinate and manage all regulatory obligations under our FAP license and ensure we are a well-oiled machine behind the scenes.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her family and doing volunteer work in her local community. When time allows, her family can be seen heading off on adventures in their retro caravan to enjoy the sights of New Zealand.
